High performance, premium function, and unmatched sophistication—these are the hallmarks of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Carbon Series, which made a stunning debut at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Mustang GTD effortlessly elevates both substance and style with its European premiere.
The Mustang GTD’s Performance package is its standout feature, engineered to achieve a sub-7-minute lap time on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. Enhancements include dive planes, a larger front splitter, underbody flaps, and a rear wing with a drag reduction system. These active aerodynamic elements optimize straight-line speed while maintaining exceptional cornering grip. The Performance package also introduces a Lightweight package, featuring reduced sound-deadening material and striking 20-inch magnesium wheels, along with a unique front fascia. While showcased on the Carbon Series model, this Performance package is available across the entire Mustang GTD range.
“Many sports cars excel at one thing. But for a car to set a quick lap at the Nürburgring, it needs to be great at everything. Cornering, grip, braking, acceleration, there’s not a single area where it can’t shine,” said Mustang GTD Chief Engineer Greg Goodall. “From the lightweight carbon fiber body on every GTD to the active aerodynamics of the Performance package, we’ve learned from motorsport how to make the Mustang GTD excel everywhere, all in the quest for a sub-seven-minute lap of the Nürburgring.”
The Mustang GTD prioritizes driver confidence, crucial for top-tier performance. The interior, revealed for the first time at Le Mans, features standard Recaro seats and a new steering wheel. The flat-bottom wheel is designed for comfort and control, with premium Dinamica inserts, leather wrap, and carbon-fiber elements. Unique to the GTD are steering wheel buttons for adjusting suspension firmness and exhaust mode, allowing drivers to fine-tune their experience without taking their eyes off the road.
Additional features include new buttons on the hero panel for accessing Track Apps and activating a front-axle lift function, aiding in navigating obstacles. The GTD’s driving dynamics are further enhanced by the eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle, controlled by prominent 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, ensuring precise management of the supercharged 5.2-liter V8’s over 800 horsepower.
“Mustang GTD does far more than elevate the Mustang’s performance envelope. It brings a new more focused, premium feel to the cabin,” said Design Manager Anthony Colard.
In terms of aesthetics, the Mustang GTD’s new Chroma Flame paint takes center stage. This exclusive deep burgundy color pairs beautifully with the Carbon Series trim. The carbon-fiber body showcases unpainted hood, roof, and rear Tech Deck, with wheels finished in Magnetite. Customization options include body color or contrasting stripes and various painted brake calipers.
Mustang GTD also features advanced software, with the Sync 4 infotainment system powered by Unreal Gaming technology. This includes Mustang GTD-specific graphics on the 13.2-inch touchscreen and 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster. Each of the six drive modes is tailored to the GTD, with a new Performance gauge cluster focusing on essential information like gear indicator and tachometer.
With its European debut, the application window for purchasing the Mustang GTD has officially opened. Prospective buyers in the European Union can now visit TheMustangGTD.com to apply for the opportunity to own this extraordinary Mustang, marking a new era of performance and luxury.
